Beauty and the beast


  • man has 3 daughters
  • man was merchant and had to go away
  • he asked the daughters what they wanted
  • eldest said necklace
  • middle said gold chain
  • youngest just said for him to return but when pressed she said a rose
  • he went out and got the necklace and chain
  • on his way home, he plucked a rose
  • when he did, a beast appeared
  • he said the merchant was a thief and owed his life
  • the merchant explained the rose was for his daughter
  • beast asked the daughter be brought to him
  • the merchant brought his daughter and together they noticed the house was enchanted
  • the girl was left with the beast and as the days went by they became friends
  • one day, the beast did not show up and when bella went to look for him, he was dead in the garden
  • she wept because she had fallen in love with him
  • as she wept, he split in two coming to life again as a young handsome prince
  • he sent for her family, and the two were married
  • they all lived together happily ever after
